I should expand: 

  The "full stop" theory is generally enacted in Richmond by turning cars nonetheless drifting along at a slow pace towards you. I find that bending of the rule to be so typically American ~ Land of the Highway & home of the Free. Crosswalks may have been put into place around the city but nonetheless pedestrians are still placed at the bottom of the pecking order.
  Coming from a country where Red means Stop & Green means Go, I find it rather unnerving to have cars drifting at you when you would otherwise cross in complete confidence, knowing you have full priority to do so. The Evils shall stay.
