Intern Outing Day: Maymont (Revisited)

... We picnicked at Maymont under that same white blossom tree of the spring,
now a shady retreat from the midday sun.

I discovered doughnut holes. Intriguing!

Katie & Jenna also conspired to bring us a wee gift:

.... Bubbles!

I'm a bit obsessed with these steps.
Look at the curves! the lines!

I had done the full 100 acre trek before with Sarah & Julie so was content just to wander through the Japanese Garden & sit by the waterfall with Emily.

Initially the artificial stream was switched off so we were by the rocks when Emily said, 'I think they've turned the waterfall on....'  Cue a quick scrambling exit from the ledge before we were hit full-force!

Our next path led out & round to a gazebo in which to await the return of the others before our scheduled house tour; the last one of the day so again felt a little rushed.
I think I definitely prefer walking through at my own pace, being able to stop & look closely at what interests me. Still a good day out organised by Katie though, with plenty to do & see.

Sleepy JK in the grass.
