One Penguin, Three Lakes.

I'm collecting parks. (NB: Not to be confused with Parking Cars.)

Mondays are now by far the best day for an outdoor fix & when the sun is on my side, all the more so.

This week we got lucky

                                          .... Sunshine!

First Lake by the Nature Center.... Turtles!

We did employ Useful Signboard to try & identify them accurately.
By all means, feel free to try too!

Oh, & Mr. Duck wanted in on the action
        too, swimming right into view:

 Significantly for Lake 1:
Oh.
Nearby was a connecting trail to take us onto & round Second Lake on a four-tenths
of a mile-walk, including some woodland, a little jetty & a Bucks Fizz tree!
(Favourite tree name spotted: Hornbeam Ironwood.)

Third Lake's trail was the most impressive though. At six-tenths of a mile around, the lake spans a good size and as we walked, we could see the picnic spot peninsula looking more like an island from afar than anything else. There was even a bridge over the fishing pier to play Pooh Sticks. (It's two all & a tie so far.)

Slight Pooh Sticks Fail however.
Twig collision.

On the Peninsula.
Good news for Ginny!

      Back at the play-park,

Empress of the Castle.

...  Yeah, so that guy there in orange striding along the walkway doesn't exactly qualify for either of those two categories. But Three Lakes is Henrico Parks & Rec, which means he was acting in a very Official capacity, making sure the equipment was safe. For penguins.
                                                                                                                ....   Wheeeee!

Caught one!
