I discovered last night that the actual
reason why Sarah's been shadowing me these last two days was not in
case I happened to fall into a ravine (fate best avoided) but actually
because she's providing cover for me over the weekend (& our first
double show Saturday at that; hah!)
I'd argued with both her & Wendy SM last week that I didn't need
any time off as it could prove more inconvenient for everyone,
principals included, so it'd be just fine if I didn't. Admittedly I
hadn't been very impressed pre-Red at the thought of 4 months
solid run crew but we're into the second run now & I could just keep
on going to the end. The end being already in sight with less than a month to closing.
Wednesday, Wendy told me she wanted to make it possible though & to
stop arguing. Last night she told me not to come back in all weekend
& that she didn't want to see me again 'til next week. I then went
on to message The Manly Man about my news & find out how his weekend schedule
was looking (having also been in double tech this week, we'd managed
about 3hrs together total) & that we might then have to be
spontaneous in our weekend efforts.
Spontaneous. .... Turns out he planned this out along with Wendy & Sarah over a month ago!
The weather might not be as promisingly sunny* as our last outdoorsy weekend away but nonetheless, I'm so excited about Mountains & hiking & such like. A little bit of this kind of peace, perfect peace & escape from the city is going to be just Wonderful.
*Last time I asked The Manly Man if he'd booked the sunshine for the Fourth, I ended up slightly sunburnt & bordering on sunstroke. So Hot up there in DC. You clearly gotta be careful what you wish for.
Have a great weekend. At this rate you could feature in your own "reality" tv series - " Mountain Folk " or maybe " Under the Trees People "
ReplyDeleteWould give swamp people/ duck folk / Cajun pawn stars / loggers/ ice road truckers etc. on Discovery Channel a run for their money!
