Richmond Revisited: Day 1

Morning rendezvous point nr. Firehouse / N. Lombardy,
James Bullough: 620 N Lombardy St

Swinging by the 7-11 then off to pay our respects -

- Oh hey VMFA.
Meeting Sarah's  beloved "bunny" at long last...
Barry Flanaghan: Large Leaping Hare (1982)
& admiring Claustral (1961) by Morris Lewis amongst others.

My Richmond friends had been very excited pre-arrival for me to try out the new buses.

-- The city just put in a rapid bus system that goes from WL all the way out to Rocketts Landing. It is an express bus with only a dozen or so bus stops & mostly runs on Broad St. I think you will find it most handy.

-- You will have to check out the new PULSE bus system!
Alright then! New swanky bus time:
figuring out the system pre-boarding with some help from fellow passengers
- from the Science Museum stop, back up to the Arts District on Broad:

To Charm School for a pre-matinee treat given that it was, after all....
= magic shell, vegan fluff,
strawberry ice-cream; nuts & cherry.
Mmmm!
. . . . .

Double-show day ~ the punter's life for me!

PULSE ride over to Carytown. New York City Diner for tea then
onwards! a walk to Agecroft for Shakes.

New Voices gig.
A reunion. Tears. Hearfelt hugs.
"Look at us making a scene DSL."
Afterwards to Bamboo for beer & sassy chat.

Homeward-bound, hostel-bound.

I request we walk because I've so missed the city & its streets. Indeed, I find myself that overcome with joy to realise we've actually reached Monument Avenue that I step straight off the sidewalk without paying due attention to the height of the kerb & land clean in the road, just as an ambulance passes by one block over.

- Shall I flag that down for you?

Beast.
Laughing & in pain.
Bah. Cue one fat ankle. Ow.

Standing by!
